UbuWeb— From its about page: "a pirate shadow library consisting of hundreds of thousands of freely downloadable avant-garde artifacts". A comprehensive collection of video and sound art, dance and performances, and many other resources.
Universes in Universe— Incredibly useful documentation (information and photographs) of biennials, other periodic exhibitions, and special exhibitions such as historically landmark shows. Very fun to click around.
Art history
African Art— A collection of digitised monographs, catalogues, and textbooks covering many different aspects of African art history, theory, and practice.
Art21— They’ve been making documentary films on contemporary artists from all over the world since 2001. Of particular interest is the series Art in the Twenty-First Century.
Theory and philosophy
The Daily idea— An all round useful primer on almost 1800 topics in philosophy and theory.
Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy— Two important sections. The reading lists here introduce you to practically all the major subfields and important names in Western philosophy, and there are reading lists for other regions too. The second is a collection of syllabi from different universities, grouped by topic or philosopher.
Professional practice
GYST— You want to write a decent artist statement? Create a crit group? Properly document your work? Advice on applying to residencies? I have not yet found a more comprehensive collection of advice than that hosted on this site. Some of the advice is a bit USA-centred, so adapt it to your circumstance. And you will outgrow some of it; congratulations when you do!
